4-Hydroxymidazolam is a major metabolite of Midazolam. Midazolam is a potent benzodiazepine with anxiolytic properties. In Vitro: Midazolam is metabolized to 1'- and 4-hydroxymidazolam by CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 and is further metabolized to glucuronide conjugates by UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs)[1].
